Matt and Bonnie lead listeners through the life cycle of ownership of U.S. property. First they looked at the opportunities / pitfalls for a Canadian looking to buy in the U.S. Then the question of how to take title surfaced. Bonnie pointed out pros and cons to different structures such as personal ownership, corporate as well as the use of a Cross Border Trust. Bonnie also gave an update to the U.S. estate tax situation. The hour closed with Bonnie turning the tables on Matt and asked him to point out some of the advantages / disadvantages for Canadians interested in moving to the U.S.
